The Director is responsible for effectively starting up this service and maintaining dynamic programming that meets the changing needs of individuals experiencing homelessness. The Director will oversee all daily operations, staff supervision, program design, and external partnerships. This role ensures guests have seamless access to essential basic needs (showers, laundry, meals) alongside integrated clinical, wellness, and housing stabilization pathways including creating a respectful, welcoming environment for clients. The Director is responsible for developing and maintaining strong partnerships with neighbors, businesses, service providers, city officials and elected officials. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Leadership & Culture Work with partners to establish a model to meet the needs of clients to ensure a successful opening that meets our values of safety, compassion, quality and responsiveness. Ensure staff are hired and trained prior to opening. Manage the day-to-day operations of the Resource Center, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and low-barrier environment. Foster a trauma-informed and culturally responsive culture that treats all guests with absolute dignity, respect, and compassion. Establish clear policies, emergency safety protocols, and standard operating procedures for the facility. Oversee the scheduling, physical maintenance, and logistics of basic services, including meal service, showers, and laundry facilities. Staff Management & Development Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate a diverse, multidisciplinary team of case managers, recovery specialists, and support staff. Provide consistent reflective supervision, coaching, and professional development opportunities to mitigate burnout and secondary traumatic stress. Facilitate regular staff meetings and case conferences to ensure coordinated, client-centered care. Programmatic Integration & Partnerships Collaborate with the Chief Program Officer (CPO) to align the Center's services with CMHA's strategic plan, including new initiatives like Medicaid billing systems. Cultivate and maintain deep partnerships with external agencies, including healthcare providers, mental health clinics, substance use treatment providers, and employment agencies ensuring robust programming is available to clients. Ensure volunteer opportunities are available for clients as appropriate. Develop and maintain an array of supportive services facilitated by both Resource Center staff and external partner agencies. Ensure tight integration with the local Coordinated Entry system and the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) to streamline housing placements. Data Tracking, Compliance & Fiscal Management Work closely with the data compliance team to track guest metrics, service utilization, and long-term housing outcomes. Manage the program's annual operating budget, ensuring the smart allocation of funds, donations, and grants. Ensure complete compliance with local, state, and federal funding regulations, assist with contract reporting and grant narratives. Community Relations Develop and maintain strong partnerships with community partners including but not limited to neighbors, businesses, service providers, city employees and elected officials. Propose partnerships to CPO to enhance services to clients including maintaining MOUs. Communicate community concerns to CPO and CEO in a timely fashion Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Experience Licensed master's-level behavioral health clinician or licensed psychologist Training and expertise in providing support services to adults with behavioral health conditions.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in social services, with at least 3 years directly managing programs or facilities serving unsheltered individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, or active substance use disorders.
Sector Expertise:
Deep understanding of the complex root causes of homelessness, effective housing models, psychiatric and substance use treatment continuum, and trauma-informed care practice. Experience working with community partners and maintaining strong working relationships with partners
Preferred Skills & Attributes Local Knowledge:
Familiarity with Worcester County housing systems, community resources, and Continuum of Care networks.
Language Skills:
Bilingual or bicultural candidates—specifically those fluent in English and Spanish—are highly encouraged to apply.
Technology:
Proficiency with HMIS database software, data analytics tracking, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements or Essential Abilities:
Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation CPR/First Aid Certification CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
Pay:
$115,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
