Public Affairs Specialist II (Intermediate)

Job Description

Description Spettro LLC is seeking a Public Affairs Specialist II to support a Department of Defense customer by providing public affairs and public relations support. The selected candidate will assist in planning, coordinating, developing, and executing communications products and activities that support the mission, objectives, and goals of the client's organization. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree. A minimum of six (6) years' experience in public affairs, public relations, or a related field is required. Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant military service can be utilized as related experience. Active Secret Security Clearance. DINFOS accreditation, or similar, desired but not required; published articles may be requested to demonstrate experience. Job Description The successful candidate shall: Demonstrate an understanding of federal government public relations/affairs. Develop and execute tailored communications plans. Create content across multiple mediums, primarily in written form (i.e., articles, fact sheets, briefing slides, correspondence, messaging, speech writing, etc.) and work with creative team for visual products that span the headquarters and different levels of Project and Product Management. Serve as a peer reviewer of communications products. Plan and coordinate public affairs communication, events and activities to support the mission, objectives, and goals of the client organization, helping to maintain the relationship between the organization and the public. Provide analysis, advice, and/or implementation assistance on all functional aspects of public affairs, including but not limited to digital media, executive communications, command information/internal communications, research and analysis. Work in various communications mediums including, but not limited to, digital and social media platforms, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and other applications such as (but not limited to) CANVA is desired but not required. Demonstrate proven experience publishing written materials such as press releases and articles. Demonstrate familiarity with managing taskers. Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure to meet short suspenses. Demonstrated experience in DoD, Army, Intel Community, or related federal sectors is desired.
