Job Description

Be comfortable leading through both opportunity and change, bringing strategic focus, sound judgment, and a results-oriented mindset to the organization. Have the ability to develop trust-based relationships across a diverse group of stakeholders, including local elected officials, corporate executives and business leaders, educational and workforce development partners, state, regional, and federal agencies, utility providers and infrastructure partners, and civic leaders. Demonstrate the ability to clearly communicate complex economic development issues. Advocate effectively for strategic investments and initiatives. Tell the Catawba County story in compelling and authentic ways. The ideal candidate is a visionary strategist, trusted relationship builder, skilled communicator, and proven executive who can leverage Catawba County's strengths to attract investment, create opportunity, and lead the community's economic development efforts into the future.Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a related economic development or business field Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) 10 years of substantial experience in planning, economic and/or community development, business or related field or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Experience managing projects and people in a nonprofit, public agency or private company. Direct experience developing close working relationships with governmental groups at the local, state and federal level, and constituents/stakeholders which might include elected officials, board of directors, employees and other business and community support organizations.Salary and Benefits Salary Range :
The salary will be competitive relative to industry norms for similar agencies and responsibilities. The position is exempt.Benefits :
