Family & Children Medicaid Manager Wake County Government - 3.8 Raleigh, NC Job Details $69,421 - $118,020 a year 12 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Team supervision Full Job Description What You'll Be Doing The Family and Children's Program Manager provides leadership and management to the Economic Services Division Family and Children's Medicaid program. Ensures federal, state, and county standards are met and customers receive benefits in a timely and accurate manner. Maintains high standards for staff training, performance, and section morale. Provides clear and consistent communication to equip staff for success. The position is part of the management team for the Division, manages 8-10 supervisors (direct reports) and approximately 80 staff members (indirect reports).
Essential Functions:
Sets direction and develops long and short range goals for a Family & Children Medicaid section within the Economic Social Services division Monitors performance by tracking and analyzing program data Ensures that effective procedures are in place to meet state and federal requirements Directly supervises a group of team leaders (supervisors) and conducts regular individual meetings with supervisors to provide feedback and monitor staff performance. Initiates disciplinary action when necessary Ensures that staff have adequate training to perform their duties effectively Holds regular staff meetings to communicate important information Serves as a point of contact for public inquiries including escalated client issues as well as general program related questions. Collaborates with other programs and services within the Economic Social Services Division and Human Services department Works with community partners to improve access to services for citizens of Wake County Initiates recruitment process to fill vacancies; directs interviews and makes hiring decisions

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) Bachelor's degree Five years of job-related experience, including three years of supervisor experience Equivalent education and experience are accepted Please include ALL prior work experience on your application and resume. Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) 3 Years Family & Children Medicaid supervisory experience or 5 Years Supervisory experience in an Economic Services program (Medicaid, WorkFirst, Childcare Subsidy, Child Support, Energy) or related Human Services program in a county or state Department of Social Services How Will We Know You're 'The One'? Knowledge of Family & Children Medicaid program policy and regulations Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction Must have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, the ability to work independently and/or in a team setting Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one Ability to exercise independent and sound judgment in performing the duties of the position Ability to provide positive support, lead and motivate staff
