Builds effective, authentic relationships with students and parents; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA.Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules and as appropriate refers students and parents to other programs.
Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.).Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment.
Trains and supervises class aides as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.
Maintain necessary certifications includingbut not limited to Basic Life Support (CPR, First Aid and Oxygen), CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, and YMCA Swim Instructor Certification or equivalent.
Desire and ability to work with children of all ages.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse group of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Multi-lingual desired but not required.

Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, the swim instructor will be responsible for the safety and education of youth enrolled in swim lesson programs. They will serve as a role model by exemplifying high standards and values at all times. The Swim Instructor is responsible for managing all functions in accordance with the stated mission, goals and policies established by the administrative staff, governing committees and Board of Directors of the YMCA. Job Schedule (Days): Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday Job Schedule (Time): Mon- Thur 4:45 pm
- 8:15 pm and Saturdays 11 am
- 1 pm
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
