Job Description

Job Purpose The City of Randleman is seeking a dynamic, community-minded leader to become our first Downtown Development Manager. This newly created role is designed for an energetic professional who can cultivate a thriving downtown ecosystem. You will spearhead signature community events, collaborate with local merchants, and lay the groundwork to secure official North Carolina Main Street community designation.
Key Responsibilities Event Leadership:
Plan, coordinate, and execute Randleman's major annual events, including the Food Truck Festival, the Summer Concert Series, and the Independence Day Fun Day celebration. The City of Randleman is seeking a manager with ideas for new special events downtown that meet the needs of the community.
Fundraising:
Build relationships and community partnerships that lead to financial contributions toward downtown initiatives.
Strategic Growth:
Partner with the newly established Downtown Advisory Board to develop and implement economic revitalization strategies.
Main Street Progression:
Guide Randleman through the NC Department of Commerce framework to achieve official Main Street community status.
Collaborative Alignment:
Report directly to the Community Services Director to align downtown initiatives with municipal planning, library services, and parks and recreation programs.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Serve as the primary liaison for downtown business owners, property investors, volunteers, and regional tourism partners.
Qualifications Experience:
Proven track record in event management, municipal planning, economic development, or main street program administration.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with the NC Department of Commerce Main Street Center approach is highly preferred.
Skills:
Exceptional organization, public speaking, budget management, and volunteer coordination skills.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in public administration, business, marketing, urban planning, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). What We Offer The full salary range for this position is $67,517.62 - $101,276.44. The unique opportunity to shape a newly created role from the ground up.
