Job Summary TelecommunicatorTelecommunicator will be responsible for answering incoming emergency and non-emergency calls to the Communications Center. Telecommunicator will process and evaluate information received from calls and dispatch units to the incident. Telecommunicator will monitor multiple camera systems and document calls and security checks from public safety and police officers throughout a shift.

Receive emergency and non-emergency callsUtilize technology such as computers, radio systems, telephonesMonitor surveillance camerasDispatch police and public safety officers to emergency and non-emergency callsMonitor and coordinate police and public safety unit activityMaintain status and locations of police and public safety personnelCreate and maintain automated logs for police and public safety personnelAbility to print identification cards using the Matrix SystemAbility to use the Regroup Program for Campus-wide alertsOther duties as assignedWhat you will need to be successful!
Must be 21+ years of ageHigh School Diploma or Equivalent2 years' experience as a Telecommunicator preferredSuccessfully complete drug screen and background investigationWork rotating shifts to maintain 24-hour coverage of Communications Center as neededMust be able to use excel and word documents on a computerMust have a valid NC driver's license or able to obtain oneMust work during inclement weatherMust be able to obtain CPR & First Aid certificationLivingstone College is a private historically black college that is secured by a strong commitment to quality instruction, academic excellence, and student success.
