Job Summary The strategic planning for SOS is introducing a new recovery housing program to provide safe, dignified, and accessible recovery housing for individuals in recovery from substance use disorders, including those involved in the justice system. We are committed to creating a strengths-based, non-judgmental, compassionate, consistent, community-centered living environments that support long-term recovery, personal responsibility, and reintegration into community life. Individuals with lived experience in recovery and past criminal justice involvement are highly preferred. The ideal candidate will be provided onsite fully compensated housing in one of our two new recovery houses and this position will require either on site living or must live within a 20 mile radius to report to the house during crisis within 15-30 minutes. Houses are expected to open in Fall of 2026. This is a salaried position with full benefits package. The Director of Recovery Housing leads the development, management, and oversight of recovery housing programs dedicated to supporting individuals on their path of recovery. This role is vital in fostering a safe, supportive environment that promotes long-term recovery, community integration, and personal growth. The Director will coordinate with our recovery support service, peer-strength criminal justice program, and family support porgrams to oversee staff supervision, ensure robust on-site and off-site programming, compliance, and cultivate relationships with community partners. This is a fully peer-based position and SOS is fully compliant in recognizing all ADA and FHA laws that support all decisions made between clinical providers and our participants around medications for opioid and substance use disorder as well as behavioral and physical health. We will support participants who are prescribed medications without judgment regardless of those prescribed medications. SOS also supports all pathways of recovery and that recovery is a participant drive decision. Our houses will not require participation in any specific pathway or fellowship, however we fully support them as well. This paid role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of underserved populations while advancing organizational goals. Responsibilities Develop, implement, help launch two new recovery houses for up to 25 men, and evaluate recovery housing programs aligned with best practices and regulatory standards. Oversight and management of monitored, peer-led sober living, as well as fully supervised housing with structured life-skills (equivalent to both National Association of Recovery Residences Level 2 and Level 3 recovery residences). Supervise housing program staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and ongoing professional development. Manage program budgets in collaboraton with the executive director, ensuring fiscal responsibility while maintaining high-quality services. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with community partners, healthcare providers, and stakeholders to enhance program reach and effectiveness. Oversee compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to recovery housing and recovery support services. Lead team management efforts by fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and accountability. Oversee client intake processes, ensuring clear communication and individualized support plans for residents with diverse needs. Monitor program outcomes through data collection and analysis to inform continuous improvement initiatives. Provide leadership in program development by identifying opportunities for expansion or enhancement of services for individuals with disabilities or from underserved communities. Ensure staff supervision includes coaching on behavioral health issues, best practices, and cultural competency. Skills Extensive experience working with individuals in recovery and with lived and living experience in recovery. Strong relationship management skills to build partnerships across community organizations and stakeholders. Proven administrative experience including data analysis, budgeting, reporting, and compliance oversight. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, communication, and data analysis purposes. Demonstrated supervisory experience in program management within peer-based recovery support services, social services or behavioral health sectors. Effective team management skills with a focus on staff supervision and leadership in recovery housing or peer-based recovery support services administration. Experience developing programs tailored to underserved communities with an emphasis on equity and inclusion. Excellent writing skills for report writing, grant applications, policy documentation, and client communication. Knowledge of behavioral health principles relevant to recovery housing environments. Pay:

$55,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
