Posting Details The Law Enforcement Records Bureau (LERB) gathers, preserves, and disseminates criminal justice data in support of public safety. Through state and federal partnerships, LERB serves as the state's official repository for millions of fingerprint records and criminal history records. The bureau functions at a high operational tempo with large volumes of data, records, and modernization projects. Major programs include the Missing Persons, Concealed Carry, Sex Offender Registration, and support to vital law enforcement databases such as NCIC, Triple I, and NIBRS. While administrative in nature, LERB is not a traditional records bureau due to its operational impact and oversight of New Mexico's public safety records, data, and intelligence sharing infrastructure. Why does the job exist? This position exists in the Computerized Criminal History (CCH) unit. Together, a team of business operations analysts and office support clerks maintain, file, and update arrest jackets and fingerprint records. Through active collaboration with fellow LERB teams, they ensure jacket accuracy, arrest validation, and proper filing protocols. How does it get done?
Administrative Criminal History Duties:
Own, maintain, and continuously improve filing system and enforce filing protocols. Assist with jacket updates and accuracy, arrest validation, and lead filing projects. Ensure proper documentation and tracking are completed for audit purposes. Complete administrative duties as assigned.
Probation and Parole Fingerprints:
Lead process of receiving, routing, verifying, tracking, and record incorporation of fingerprints from probation and parole agencies. Ensure fingerprint records are handled on a timely and accurate basis.
Dispositions:
Lead and manage disposition record matching, updating, and corrections for accurate and timely law enforcement record keeping. Collaborate with stakeholders to accomplish disposition matching projects and maintenance.
Supervisory:
Serve as direct supervisor for unit FTEs for performance, behavioral, and productivity monitoring and documentation. Review and manage timesheets, delegate fair workload distribution, and execute managerial priorities. Who are the customers? Minimum Qualification Associate Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Accounting and two (2) years of directly related job experience operating within parameters and guidelines in the areas of office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management, contract management, and/or in the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements Successful employment is contingent upon passing a national fingerprint-based background check prior to employment. Continued employment requires a felony-free record, in compliance with the CJIS Security Policy. Statewide travel is required. In addition, the selected candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate from the State of New Mexico. Working Conditions Work is performed in a fast-paced, high-responsibility office environment within a law enforcement setting. This position involves extensive use of computers, video display terminals, and telephones, with extended periods of sitting. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds, along with frequent walking, standing, sitting, and bending. Occasional statewide travel may be required.
