Job Description

Ontario County, County Administrator's Office is looking for qualified applicants to fill a full-time Deputy County Administrator position in their office.
Salary :
2026 - $145,496/yr. Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 3% deferred compensation match, NYS retirement pension, employee wellness programming, and generous leave provided.
QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
:
Either:
1. Possession of a Master's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science, Human Resources, Finance, or a closely related field and four (4) years of full time paid professional experience in a large and complex organization; OR 2. Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science, Human Resources, Finance or a closely related field and six (6) years of full time paid professional experience in a large and complex organization; OR 3. A combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of numbers (1) and (2) above.
SUBSTITUTION
Possession of a Juris Doctorate may be substituted for the specified Master's Degree.
SPECIAL NOTE
EDUCATION:
Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. A list of acceptable companies who provide this service can be found on the Internet at http://www.cs.ny.gov/jobseeker/degrees.cfm. You must pay the required evaluation fee.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
: In accordance with NYS Public Officers Law Article 2, Section 3, and Local Law # 10 of 2023, the Deputy County Administrator must be a resident of Ontario County.
