Associate Executive Director of Older Adult Services Position Summary The Senior Director is responsible for cross-program oversight, supervision of supervisory staff, and serve as a field instructor to three graduate-level social work interns placed across the Older Adult Services continuum. This role helps strengthen the agency's training pipeline while ensuring interns receive meaningful clinical learning experiences. The Senior Director is responsible for providing supervision and contract oversight for three programs withinOlder Adult Services:
Intake, Geriatric Mental Health, and Elder Justice. This includes supervising the program leads and directors associated with each area. The role ensures high quality service delivery, adherence to social work best practices, and compliance with all program requirements and their funders. As a member of the Older Adult Services leadership team, the Senior Director provides guidance on clinical practice, case documentation standards, and coordinates professional development and training opportunities. The individual will support staff in addressing complex client needs while promoting effective case planning and service coordination. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Senior Director may perform other duties as assigned.- Coordinates field education activities, including learning agreements, process recordings, and performance feedback, while serving as a liaison between the agency and partner schools to ensure a high-quality internship experience.
- Supports intern onboarding and professional development, including orientation, goal-setting, and exposure to interdisciplinary teamwork and community partnerships.
- Integrates trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based approaches into supervision, helping interns effectively engage diverse older adult populations and caregivers.
- Support staff professional development through coaching, case consultation, and training opportunities.
- Conduct case reviews to ensure ongoing reassessment of client needs, monitoring of service effectiveness, and appropriate revisions to care plans.
- Ensure timely completion of supervisory case notes and adherence to agency documentation standards.
- Support program staff in preparing for and successfully completing annual NYC Aging program audits.
- Assist in reviewing program reports, including monthly and quarterly funder reporting.
- Monitor program deliverables and support staff in meeting contractual goals and performance targets. Leadership and Collaboration
- Serve as a member of the Older Adult Services leadership team, contributing to program planning, policy implementation, and quality improvement efforts.
- Provide feedback on organizational policies and procedures that impact social work practice and service delivery.
- Support cross-program collaboration across the Older Adult Services continuum.
