Job Description
The Senior Director of Programs serves as a key member of the YMCA of Yonkers executive leadership team, providing strategic oversight for youth development, member services, violence prevention, workforce development, wellness, supportive services, and reentry initiatives. Working closely with the President & CEO, this role leads organizational planning, strengthens cross-functional collaboration, supports program leaders, and ensures high-quality, mission-driven services that improve outcomes for youth, families, and communities throughout Yonkers.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Nonprofit Management, Social Work, Public Health, Criminal Justice, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive leadership or management experience.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing programs, multidisciplinary teams, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong experience managing complex operations and multiple organizational priorities.
- Experience within nonprofit, community-based, government-funded, or mission-driven organizations strongly preferred.
- Experience with government contracts, grants, compliance, and performance management preferred.
- Familiarity with youth development, workforce development, violence prevention, reentry services, behavioral health, or trauma-informed programming strongly preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience supervising staff and developing high-performing teams.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
