Certified Occupancy Specialist

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Occupancy Specialist to join our team and ensure compliance with housing regulations while providing exceptional support to residents and property management. In this vital role, you will oversee occupancy processes, verify eligibility, and facilitate smooth leasing operations. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our housing programs, ensuring fair access and adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. Duties Verify applicant eligibility for various housing programs, including Section 8, and other subsidized housing options Conduct thorough interviews with prospective tenants to assess their needs and ensure compliance with program requirements Maintain accurate occupancy records using property management software such as OneSite Ensure all leasing documents are complete, accurate, and compliant with Fair Housing regulations and landlord-tenant law Collaborate with property management staff to coordinate move-ins, lease renewals, and occupancy updates Provide crisis intervention when necessary, offering support or referrals related to addiction counseling or social work needs Stay current on changes in housing policies, Fair Housing laws, and Section 8 regulations to ensure ongoing compliance Skills Excellent negotiation skills to facilitate agreements between tenants and landlords Proficiency in property management software such as Yardi or OneSite for recordkeeping and reporting Ability to handle crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention and crisis management techniques Skilled in motivational interviewing to promote positive engagement with residents Familiarity with Section 8 voucher programs and related subsidy processes Knowledge of fair housing laws ensures equitable treatment of all applicants and residents Join us in making a difference by helping provide safe, affordable housing options while supporting residents through compassionate service and expert knowledge. Pay:

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
