ABOUT CLATSOP COUNTY

Today Clatsop County is one of nine Home Rule counties in Oregon. Five non-partisan elected Commissioners set policy and appoint a full-time County Manager, who is responsible for daily operations. County services are provided through these divisions: County Administration (County Manager), Assessment and Taxation, Budget and Finance, County Clerk, Juvenile, Public Health, Public Works, Community Development, the District Attorney, and Sheriff's Offices. The county also administers a road district, a rural law enforcement district, and a local sewer district.

THE POSITION

Under supervision of the District Attorney, this position provides supervision, coordination, and advanced victim advocacy services that ensure victims and witnesses of crime receive effective support, crisis response, legal information, and assistance navigating the criminal justice system.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, sociology, criminal justice, law enforcement, public administration, or a related field, and three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience providing victim services, social services, criminal justice services, or closely related services; OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, sociology, criminal justice, law enforcement, public administration, or a related field, AND five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience providing victim services, social services, criminal justice services, or closely related services. One (1) year of supervisory or lead work experience, including responsibility for assigning or coordinating work, providing direction or training, or reviewing or monitoring the work of others. Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acceptable. Must obtain Victim Services Professional certification within the first three (3) years of employment.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Previous grant writing and administration, including grant tracking, reporting, and compliance. Current certification as a Victim Services Professional. Certification in State Victim Assistance Academy or National Organization of Victim Assistance. Experience with PROSECUTORbyKarpel (PBK) software. Proficiency with intercultural communication, including the ability to read, write, and speak Spanish.
