Job Description
About the role Akres is a waterfront Mediterranean-American restaurant on Pier 12. Our servers run their own sections from greeting to check-out, including making their own drinks — there's no separate bartender handing you cocktails, so you'll pour wine, draft beer, and build our house cocktails for your own tables. We're looking for someone comfortable at the well and on the floor who can keep both moving on a busy nights. What you'll do Take orders, run food, and manage the full guest experience for your section Build cocktails, pour wine and beer, and make non-alcoholic drinks for your tables from our standard recipes Guide guests through the food and drink menus with confident recommendations Keep your station and the shared bar well clean and stocked; wash and restock glassware during service Ring orders and close checks accurately on Square POS Check IDs and serve alcohol responsibly under OLCC rules; cut off and escalate when needed Follow food safety and sanitation standards throughout service Communicate clearly with the kitchen on timing, modifications, and allergies Help with opening, closing, and side work; occasionally support private events What we're looking for Current Oregon OLCC service permit and Oregon food handler card (or the ability to get both before your first shift) Restaurant serving experience required; bartending or drink-making experience strongly preferred Working knowledge of classic cocktails, wine, and beer; willingness to learn our house recipes Ability to manage a full section and build drinks at the same time without letting either slip Warm, professional, and unflappable with guests Reliable availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays; summer is our peak season Able to stand for full shifts and lift 30+ lbs (kegs, cases, ice)
