Job Description

White Horse Village (WHV),a retirement community located in Newtown Square, PA is seeking to add a Sr. Director of Finance to their team. Responsibilities:
Supervises accounting team members in performance of day-to-day functions including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, disbursements, fixed assets (capital), financial reporting and cost reporting. Ensures the issuance of timely, complete and accurate financial statements and variance analyses with documented explanations. Manages the preparation and filing of the Annual Disclosure Statement with the PA Department of Insurance. Oversees the classification of contributions to the White Horse Village Endowment Fund, Inc. and prepares interim financial statements.
Assists Vice President:
Finance in establishing and maintaining a written set of accounting policies/procedures and makes recommendations for improvements as needed. Assists Vice President; Finance in establishing and maintain a system of internal controls to ensure proper segregation of duties and proper authorization of transactions. Develops, revises, implements and/or supervises the development, revision, and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP). Prepares and/or supervises the preparation of financial statements and reports, including the review and/or input of journal entries, account reconciliations, and other analysis as deemed necessary by the
Vice President:
Finance. Ensures the proper reconciliation of all cash and investment accounts on a monthly basis. Maintain fixed asset records including depreciation calculations and retirement of fully depreciated assets. Oversees the accounting for prepaid expenses and accrued expenses including the proper amortization to expense. Coordinates support for auditors and other external examiners. Assists with the budget building process as deemed necessary by Vice President; Finance. Coordinates financial institution activities and transactions as directed by the Vice President; Finance. Oversees the process of census/occupancy reporting for Residential Bridlewood, Four Seasons and Canterbury. Manage outsourced functions such as third-party skilled nursing facility billing. Maintain the chart of accounts and financial reports generated by the general ledger system and implements financial reporting tool to allow for customized financial statements. Manage the relationship with the actuarial consultants and the calculation/recording of Future Service Obligations; including the use of actuarial software & the accounting for and amortization of deferred entrance fees. Mange the accounting and reporting pertaining to the diverse investment portfolio, including alternative investments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with a concentration or major in Accounting or related field. CPA preferred. Minimum of two years' experience managing an Accounting team and at least seven years' total experience in accounting/finance. Healthcare, Senior Living, Life Plan Community and/or non-profit experience is preferred but not required. Experience with monthly close process, budgeting and auditing are required. Must have demonstrated ability to apply sound accounting and business principles and organize and manage multiple deliverables, deadlines and priorities in a fluid environment. Excellent organizational skills. Outstanding communication abilities Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time efficiently. Able to build strong interpersonal relationships with leadership team members. Ability to be a "big picture" thinker. Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.

Full-time Pay:
$140,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
