Please see our Applicant Guide for more information on education/experience equivalency guidelines. 2. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO), or similar professional certification. Experience in higher education finance or governmental budgeting. Experience with fund accounting and regulatory compliance. 3. Essential Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (Core Competencies) Knowledge - Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, fund accounting, and public sector financial practices. Understanding of budget development, financial forecasting, and cash management principles. Familiarity with applicable state and federal regulations, including public sector budgeting requirements and audit standards. Knowledge of financial systems, data management, and reporting tools, as well as institutional policies and procedures. Skills - Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into meaningful insights. Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present financial information to a variety of audiences. Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial systems. Abilities - Ability to develop and manage complex budgets and financial models. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed recommendations. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in applying policies, regulations, and financial principles. Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and communicate complex financial information clearly and respectfully. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and organizational needs while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. 4. Other Requirements For assignments requiring operation of a motor vehicle, possession of a valid Oregon Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 30-days of employment, and maintenance of an acceptable driving record are required. 5. Remote Work Options (see AP 7239 Working Remotely for more details) This position functions as an in-person work arrangement, working on-campus with either a set schedule or flexibility depending on operational needs. 6. Physical Demands The physical demands listed below represent those that must be met by an incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Manual dexterity and coordination are required for over half of the daily work period (over 50%) which is spent sitting while operating office equipment such as computers, keyboards, 10-key, telephones, and other standard office equipment, or driving. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, twist, crouch, climb, balance, see, talk, hear, and manipulate objects. The position requires some mobility including the ability to move materials such as files, books, office equipment, up to 5 lbs. daily, and 5-25 pounds occasionally. This position requires both verbal and written communication abilities. 7. Working Conditions The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is primarily working indoors in an office environment. The employee is not exposed to hazardous conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and lighting is adequate. This is a Full-time Exempt/Managerial (100%, 246 days/year) position in the Operations and Finance department. Starting compensation will be based on Grade I of the 2025-26 salary schedule, in accordance with initial placement per the current Management, Administrative, and Confidential Employee Handbook. Consideration will be given to related experience and educational achievement but generally not expected to exceed the midpoint of the range.
