Job Description

TriSource is seeking a qualified leader for a Shelter Program Director in Ft. Belvoir, VA! The Program Director oversees the daily operations of an Emergency Shelter, serving up to 100 single adults. This leadership role also provides oversight for additional service delivery programs, including Hypothermia Shelter, Drop-In Services, and Outreach. The Program Director is responsible for ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed, and housing-focused services across all programs. The Director collaborates closely with Fairfax County's Office to Prevent and End Homelessness and community partners to support ongoing progress toward the County's 10-Year Plan to Prevent and End Homelessness.

Monday-Friday 8am-4pm/9am-5pm Must participate in on-call rotation Key Responsibilities Provide leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for Emergency Shelter, Hypothermia, Drop-In, and Outreach programs. Supervise key leadership and operational staff, including Assistant Directors, Kitchen Manager, Custodian, and interns. Ensure program services are delivered using strengths-based, trauma-informed, and housing-focused models. Support complex case management and provide guidance during client crises and emergencies. Ensure compliance with HMIS requirements, contracts, grants, and all applicable regulations. Oversee shelter operations, including resident safety, facility maintenance, vehicles, and emergency preparedness. Develop and maintain program policies, procedures, and workflows aligned with agency standards. Monitor program performance through data review, audits, and client satisfaction surveys. Manage program budgets in collaboration with the Finance Department. Represent the agency at Continuum of Care meetings, community forums, and external presentations. Participate in on-call rotation and support staff during emergencies, vacancies, or crises.
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field, or equivalent experience 4+ years of progressive program and staff management experience Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills Excellent organizational and time-management abilities Ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions Trauma-informed, adaptable, and solution-focused approach Valid driver's license Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
Salary:
$80,000-$85,000/YR dependent on experience #IND3
