Job Description

We are looking for an Economic Development Coordinator to support the County's economic development efforts and help advance business growth within the community. This position collects and analyzes site, real estate, and market information; prepares research, presentations, and responses for prospective businesses; and provides data and market intelligence to support Economic Development Authority (EDA) activities and planning. The Economic Development Coordinator also maintains economic development information, researches grant opportunities, and coordinates the annual compilation of market performance indicators. As an Economic Development Coordinator, you will: Collect, verify, and analyze current and projected real estate, site, demographic, business, and market data relevant to economic development projects. Maintain knowledge of reliable data sources and identify information that supports the EDA's mission and decisions. Prepare site studies, responses to requests for information, and tailored materials for prospective businesses and site visits, including presentations. Maintain current information on the website. Prepare customized presentations and other supporting materials for prospective business visits, using site, market, and other relevant data. Research potential grant opportunities and maintain a calendar of application deadlines and related requirements. Provide data research and market intelligence for EDA activities and strategies. Conduct or coordinate primary research when needed. Supervise and coordinate the annual compilation of market performance indicators in support of EDA goals. Provide research and analysis to support the development of EDA's short- and long-term objectives. Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. A bachelor's degree in business, economics, public administration, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in economic development, grant research or writing, data analysis, or a related field. Working knowledge of economic development principles, grant research, and data analysis.
Physical Demands:
Work involves light physical effort, including handling materials weighing up to 20 pounds; extended periods of sitting; and occasional walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, and gripping. The position requires communicating with others, reviewing and analyzing written and computer information, and observing the work environment.
Environmental Conditions:
Work is primarily performed in an office with moderate noise, such as conversation and light traffic. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
