Job Description
Reporting to the Legislative Services Manager, the Legislative Specialist I performs various administrative duties in support of County Board activities and the Legislative Services Department.
EXPECTATION OF START DATE FOR THIS ROLE IS BEGINNING OF MAY 2026
Hours:
Work Hours- 1st and 3rd week of the month: Tuesday
- 9:00 a.m.
- 2:00 p.m. Wednesday
- 10:00 a.m.
- 2:00 p.m. Thursday
- 11:00 a.m.
- 4:00 p.m. Work Hours
- 2nd and 4th week of the month: Tuesday
- 2:00 p.m.
- 7:00 p.m. Wednesday
- 10:00 a.m.
- 3:00 p.m. Thursday
- 11:00 a.m.
- 3:00 p.m. Flexibility required.
- This position is not eligible for benefits What Success Looks Like in the First Year Within the first 12 months, the Legislative Specialist I will develop strong working knowledge of County Board operations, including agenda preparation, meeting coordination and support, records management, and timely follow-through on assigned actions.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional office environment within a legislative or government setting. The role involves regular interaction with elected officials, government staff, and members of the public. Work is primarily performed at a desk using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment. The position requires attendance at committee meetings and public hearings, which may occur during evenings or extended hours.
