Job Description

The Assistant Buyer, will directly report to the Category Manager and play a pivotal The Opportunity in supporting the buying team within each assigned category. This position involves coordinating closely with other internal departments and external suppliers being both local and overseas, generating and analyzing performance data and reports, following up on various project timelines, managing required actions, marketing POPs and other matters related to the assigned product category. You Will Assist the buying team in communicating with local and overseas vendors regarding the assigned products category. Ensuring timely follow-ups to maintain strong vendor relationships and ensure product availability. Collaborate with internal departments and various stores on promotional campaigns, marketing materials, project timelines, follow up actions and other matters related to various product launches. Generate periodic reports and ad hoc relating to store sales, inventory, category and special event in a timely manner. Provide data analysis, administrative, and clerical support. Responsible for preparing marketing and promotion materials which include translating messages in both English and Chinese.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the superior(s). You Should Have / Be Completed post-secondary education in Business, Marketing or other related field. Possess good knowledge, passion and awareness in Asian grocery products is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization including external stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is a plus. Able to work independently with minimum supervision and as part of a team. Ability to prioritize and deliver multiple assignments promptly and accurately. Experience handling overseas suppliers will be a plus advanced knowledge in MS Excel; proficient in MS Word and Outlook.
