Job Description
Job Summary Complete Welders Supply is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Purchasing Agent to join our team at our Napa location. This position supports our Purchasing Department by helping maintain inventory levels, placing purchase orders, communicating with vendors, and ensuring our four retail and distribution locations have the products they need to serve our customers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys organization, technology, problem-solving, and wants to build a long-term career in purchasing, inventory management, and supply chain operations. Duties Create and process purchase orders for inventory and company supplies. Follow up with vendors regarding order status and delivery schedules. Expedite backorders and communicate lead times with internal staff. Process Return Goods Authorizations (RGAs) and verify vendor credits. Maintain accurate inventory, pricing, vendor, and item information in our ERP system (TIMS). Set up new inventory items and update catalog pricing. Generate purchasing and inventory reports. Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories. Work closely with Sales, Warehouse, Production, and Management to ensure inventory availability. Perform additional purchasing and administrative duties as assigned. Skills Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new software quickly. Microsoft Office experience, particularly Excel. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong mathematical and analytical abilities. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Experience in purchasing, inventory control, order processing, data entry, or customer service is preferred. Entry-level applicants with strong organizational and technical skills are encouraged to apply.
