Neal Electric based out of Carlsbad, CA has an excellent Purchasing Assistant opportunity. The ideal candidate will be responsible for purchasing materials in a timely and accurate manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Purchase materials in a timely manner and at the lowest cost Order special products in a timely manner Issue of purchase orders and change orders. Verify accuracy of computerized purchasing records Maintain proficiency in computerized purchasing/business systems; Review purchase orders for compliance with corporate policy Identify and optimize common inventories among facilities Training duties as needed Coordinate jobsite deliveries and pickups upon request from Foremen Keeping track of material returns and credits Other duties/responsibilities as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

A high school diploma or GED equivalent required. Minimum 5 years working in the commercial electrical industry, or construction industry Must be literate and functional with Microsoft Office, Word and Excel Judgment and decision-making ability Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards Manages time effectively and adapts quickly to changing priorities Accuracy and attention to detail Team player who works productively with wide range of people Comfortable in fast-paced environment Problem-solving and analytical ability Capable of following written instructions and documented procedures Complies with equal employment opportunity laws, regulations and company policies related to discrimination in hiring, firing, promotion and compensation, including sexual harassment

SKILLS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Ability to stay focused and work without close supervision. Works well in a team environment as well as independently. Able to adjust priorities on short notice, manage interruptions and work well under pressure. Ability to timely meet deadlines Effective listening, communication (verbal and written), and negotiating skills Effective communication, organizational and problem-solving skills. Complies with and maintains company confidentiality practices and policies. Interacts professionally with all company employees and outside persons, such as customers and vendors Working conditions consists of both office environment (temperature-controlled buildings or offices, outside elements such as rain, cold, and heat), and Warehouse environment where outside weather can affect the conditions inside.
