We are seeking a smart, motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Operations & Purchasing Coordinator to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate with a background in business, finance, accounting, economics, supply chain or a related field who wants to gain real-world experience and build a career in the construction industry. This role sits at the center of our day-to-day operations. You will help manage customer orders, purchasing, vendor communication, pricing, inventory, material tracking and project administration while learning how construction projects move from order through purchasing, delivery, installation and completion. The position is heavily focused on data, accuracy and organization , so strong Excel skills and comfort working with numbers are important. You do not need construction industry experience. We will teach you our products, processes and systems. What we can't teach as easily is work ethic, attention to detail, curiosity and an awesome attitude. We're looking for someone who is sharp, wants to learn, enjoys being part of a team and can take their work seriously without taking themselves too seriously.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Enter and process customer orders Create and manage purchase orders Enter job, product, pricing and cost information into company systems Review orders for accuracy and identify discrepancies Confirm pricing, quantities and product information Communicate with vendors regarding orders, pricing and product availability Assist with purchasing and sourcing materials Track material orders, shipments and expected delivery dates Maintain accurate inventory and order records Process order changes, corrections and updates Use Excel to organize and analyze pricing, purchasing, job and operational information Maintain accurate records within QuickBooks and other business/ERP systems Assist with inventory control and material replenishment Coordinate purchasing and material requirements with project schedules Help identify purchasing, pricing and supply-chain issues before they affect a project Assist with scheduling and project coordination Communicate with sales, warehouse, vendors and operations teams Help solve day-to-day order, purchasing and project issues Maintain organized electronic records for reporting and job-costing purposes

No construction industry experience is required. Experience with purchasing, accounting, inventory, ERP systems, QuickBooks or supply chain is helpful — but it is not required. We would rather hire a motivated college graduate with the right business aptitude, Excel skills, analytical ability, work ethic and personality and teach them our industry. This is not a position where you'll spend your first year getting coffee and making copies.
