Rodman's, a family-owned specialty retailer, is looking for an organized, dependable Assistant Alcohol Buyer to support our Senior Alcohol Buyer and help keep our beer, wine, and spirits department running smoothly. This is an active role with a strong presence on the sales floor. You'll help customers, stock merchandise, maintain inventory, and assist with ordering and product selection. The right candidate enjoys working with people, takes initiative, and understands that everyone helps across beer, wine, and spirits. In this role, you will: Provide friendly, attentive customer service and help shoppers select products based on their preferences, occasion, and budget. Work alongside the team to stock shelves, replenish displays, rotate products, and keep the sales floor and stockroom organized. Support the Senior Alcohol Buyer with daily priorities, vendor follow-up, product research, and purchasing tasks. Monitor inventory, identify low stock and out-of-stock items, and communicate replenishment needs. Assist with orders and selected buying responsibilities under the Senior Alcohol Buyer's direction. Help receive deliveries, check products against invoices, and report shortages, damage, or discrepancies. Maintain accurate shelf tags, pricing, and promotional signage. Help prepare displays, tastings, seasonal promotions, and new product launches. Follow through on assigned tasks and communicate clearly with coworkers, management, and vendors. We're looking for someone who has: Experience in retail, hospitality, or an alcohol-related business; beer, wine, or spirits retail experience is preferred. Working knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits, along with a willingness to keep learning. Strong customer service skills and a comfortable, approachable communication style. Good organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage changing priorities. Basic computer skills and comfort working with inventory systems, spreadsheets, and sales reports. Dependable attendance, initiative, and a willingness to help wherever needed within the alcohol department. The ability to remain active throughout a shift and regularly lift and move cases weighing up to 50 pounds, with reasonable accommodation as needed. Availability to work a retail schedule, including weekends and holidays. Previous purchasing or inventory experience is a plus. A strong work ethic, customer focus, and willingness to learn are essential. You'll work directly with our Senior Alcohol Buyer, expand your product knowledge, and gain practical buying experience while contributing to a longstanding neighborhood business.

Pay:

$50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
