Job Summary:
We are looking for an ambitious, detail-oriented Assistant Buyer who is excited about products, retail, and the opportunity to build a career in buying. This is an opportunity to work closely with our buying and planning teams, gain exposure to the product selection and purchasing process, develop vendor relationships, and help shape the assortments our customers discover in our stores. Job Responsibility:
As an Assistant Buyer, you will support the development and execution of merchandise strategies for assigned product categories.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Assist with product selection, assortment planning, and category development.
  • Communicate and build professional relationships with vendors and business partners.
  • Support the Buying and Planning teams by compiling and analyzing data to help develop seasonal strategies, sales plans, and financial targets.
  • Participate in buying, planning, and vendor meetings.
  • Assist with negotiating product purchases, including pricing, quantities, terms, and other key business considerations.
  • Help identify opportunities, solve problems, and support decisions through strong analytical thinking.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism in all business relationships, communications, and interactions.
  • Work collaboratively across teams to support company goals and deliver successful merchandise assortments.
  • Take on additional responsibilities and projects as needed in a dynamic retail environment.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Merchandising or related field required.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Previous retail experience, including internships, store experience, or other relevant exposure to retail—is a plus.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to turn information and data into actionable insights.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize competing responsibilities, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • A strong sense of style, product, and customer preferences, with the ability to support and execute a strategic merchandising vision.
  • A collaborative team player who is also comfortable taking initiative and working independently.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Available to work 44 hours a week, on-site.
  • This is an onsite position, not remote.
