Position Overview The Purchasing Assistant is an entry-level position that provides administrative support to the Purchasing Department. Working closely with the Purchasing Manager, you'll help keep projects organized by maintaining vendor information, preparing purchase orders, tracking documentation, and assisting with day-to-day purchasing activities. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, enjoys working behind the scenes to keep operations running smoothly, and wants to build a long-term career in construction, procurement, or operations. No previous purchasing experience is required—we're looking for someone with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. What You'll DoAdministrative Support Assist the Purchasing Manager with daily administrative tasks Prepare and organize purchase orders and vendor documentation Enter purchasing information into company systems Maintain organized digital files and records Answer emails and communicate with vendors as needed Vendor Support Request pricing, insurance certificates, and required documents from vendors Help onboard new subcontractors and suppliers Follow up on outstanding documentation and requests Maintain accurate vendor contact information Purchasing Coordination Assist with obtaining material pricing and quotes Track purchase orders and deliveries Help resolve simple purchasing questions with vendors Coordinate with construction teams regarding purchasing needs Organization & Reporting Update spreadsheets and purchasing reports Monitor outstanding purchase orders Ensure information remains accurate and organized Assist with special projects as assigned QualificationsRequired High school diploma or equivalent 0-2 years of administrative, office, customer service, or related experience Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office or Google Workspace Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to prioritize tasks and stay organized in a fast-paced environment Positive attitude and willingness to learn Preferred Associate's degree or coursework in business, construction, or a related field Experience using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets Interest in residential construction or procurement Previous office or administrative experience What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who: Is dependable and takes pride in doing quality work Enjoys learning new skills and asking questions Has strong attention to detail Is organized and able to manage multiple tasks Communicates professionally with coworkers and vendors Takes initiative and follows through on assignments Wants to grow into a long-term career with our company Growth Opportunities This position is designed as a career development role.
