Purchasing Assistant Job Description The Purchasing Assistant supports the purchasing team in sourcing, negotiating, and acquiring goods and services necessary for the organization's operations. This role ensures timely and cost-effective procurement while maintaining compliance with company policies and vendor agreements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist the purchasing team in sourcing and negotiating terms with vendors. Acquire goods and services necessary for the organization's operations. Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials. Maintain compliance with company policies and vendor agreements. Manage and support administrative tasks related to procurement. Handle inventory management tasks as needed. Essential Skills Experience with purchase orders, purchasing, and procurement processes. Strong administrative support skills. Proficiency in inventory management. 1-3 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or administrative support. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Ability to learn and work within the company ERP system. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred. Open-minded and motivated self-starter with exposure to purchasing and inventory practices. Work Environment The role requires working on-site five days a week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
