Purchasing Asst./General Store Clerk

PURCHASING FT, Day Shift Req # 3061 Purchasing Assistant 833-03 Full-time DaysGeneral Summary of Responsibilities:
This position assists the Purchasing Manager in the overall operation of the department in accordance with established policies and requirements of the department as directed by the Administrator and to function in the absence of the manager to assure that there are adequate supplies available for the operation of the hospital. Order supplies from various vendors, write purchase orders, from "inventory ," "non-stock," and "capital request" forms. Research given data, compare with contracts, and compare pricing. Follow up on back order and items not received on purchase orders. Enter completed purchase order information into the computer. Do daily, weekly, monthly, and annual computer reports. Assist the Purchasing Manager with assigned tasks. Assist in filling requisitions from departments, as well as from Omicell. Receiving supply shipments, merchandise returns, and other departmental duties. Maintain user information and PAR levels in Omicell, communicate with Omicell, if there is a problem. Assist in monitoring inventory levels. Do filing as required. Assist the Purchasing Clerk with checking in freight against purchase orders, and making additions to inventory. Maintains a good working relationship with other departments. You must be a self-motivated professional with strong interpersonal skills, work a flexible work schedule when needed.Education:
High school graduate or equivalent.Experience:
Enter data into the computer, accurately pay attention to detail. Handle more than one task at a time. Problem-solving and work independently. Work under stressful conditions. Excellent communications skills. Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds, use carts and trucks to move heavy supplies to and from storage area.
