Support manufacturing through procurement of raw materials and components. Execute supply chain strategies to improve lead-time, while managing out-of-stocks on raw materials. Provide timely and accurate information for internal employees. ______________________________________________________
General Duties:
Research and identify potential suppliers for raw materials. Request quotes from vendors and negotiate pricing to ensure we are buying cost effective, quality raw materials that are in compliance with our specifications. Qualify raw material vendors and materials to ensure they align with our internal specifications. Manage the shipment schedules of domestic and international raw material deliveries. Work with warehouse staff to cross reference deliveries with purchase orders to identify discrepancies. Work with accounting to reconcile invoices and confirm that purchases match invoices. Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and monitor vendor activities. Work with planning and inventory staff to monitor inventory levels and replenish materials or products based on operations and customer requirements. Issue return material authorizations (RMA's) and obtain credit or replacements for damaged, defective, or out of spec materials. Source and identify raw materials for inventory replenishment and wholesale as needed. Assist Purchasing Manager with day-to-day operations and perform data entry, filing, and other tasks as needed.
Requirements:
Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate At least 1-3 years of experience in a purchasing or operations role Knowledge of purchasing and inventory functions Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organization skills and attention to detail Works well under pressure or in stressful and demanding situations or environments A team player focused on the success and growth of the department as well as the organization Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel Functions Knowledge of NetSuite a plus
