Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
  • Monday through Friday; 40 hours per week. Flexible to the needs of the agency within St Lawrence and Jefferson county Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Accounting or Business with 1-3 years' experience or High School diploma and 3-5 years' experience in purchasing, bookkeeping and/or computer input. Must possess strong organizational skills and computer skills; specifically Excel and Word. Ability to deal with the public. Solid decision making skills and strong business ethics required. Work Authorization/Security Clearance
  • Authorized to work in the United States. Summary/Objective
  • Supports the coordination of activities involved with procuring goods and services for the agency.
Assists in preparation of purchase orders and bid requests. Reviews bid proposals and helps negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority. Maintains computerized procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories. Is responsible for all purchasing of materials and needed supplies for Production Unlimited. Essential Functions
  • 1.
Ensures raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies and advertising for Agency/Vocational programs are procured according to Agency purchasing and procedures. 2. Maintains relationships between Agency staff and Vendors for the agency and vocational programs. 3. Reviews requisitions. Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price availability, and delivery schedule. 4. Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items. Estimates values according to knowledge or market price. Determines method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid. 5. Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action. 6. Participates on committees and special assignments as assigned. 7. Attends and satisfactorily completes all required in-services. Competencies

  • Required to travel between Jefferson and St. Lawrence Counties once or twice a week as needed. Work Environment
