Full Job Description OSummary:
The Print Buyer supports internal departments by working as a liaison between external vendors and suppliers to facilitate the production and delivery of printed products. Solicit and resolve any inquiries or production related questions that arise. Track projects in the production cycle to ensure they are on-schedule and meet quality standards. Reconcile invoices with purchase orders. Request shipping and other business-related documentation as needed from printers, domestic and international. This is a hybrid position based out of our downtown Minneapolis, MN office, some minimum number of days in the office will be expected. This position is not remote. Duties and Responsibilities Estimating- Quoting Frontlist and Backlist titles for best quality, delivery, and price, preparing RFQ's and estimates and purchase orders.
- Assist with print broker services as needed. Material Sourcing & Inventory Control
- Request and supply product samples as requested for frontlist and backlist reprints.
- Make any necessary inventory adjustments in Business Central, LPG's ERP system. Production Planning
- Gather project requirements and maintain production database and layouts with correct specifications.
- Monitor progress of jobs through production cycle, communicate with vendors to ensure on-time delivery.
- Assist in selecting appropriate options for binding, ink, paper, varnishes, and special printing processes. Print Procurement
- When needed, planning, ordering, and track marketing materials.
- Prepare purchase orders for new and backlist titles and coordinate delivery of products to the warehouse.
- Review and approve invoices in our AP work-flow software, TrinDocs. Reconcile all differences.
- Perform other related duties assigned by immediate supervisor and/or other management.
Experience and Necessary skills:
- Possess a solid understanding and/or experience of commercial printing processes (digital pre-press, offset/digital printing, and binding).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and monitor multiple projects.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills are a must.
- Ability to make decisions and proactively take appropriate actions while solving practical problems in changing situations.
Computer Skills:
- Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Acrobat, Adobe Creative Suite, FileMaker/Book Builder Education and/or
Experience:
- Associate Degree in Graphic Arts or equivalent or 2+ years of related experience.
- Bachelor Degree in Graphics Communications Management preferred.
- Good working knowledge of print production from file creation through finishing Full-time salaried position
Hiring Range:
$58K - $62K DOE Office hours : Monday through Friday, daytime hoursBenefits:
