Job Title:
Purchasing Administrative Assistant Job Description The Purchasing Administrative Assistant supports the purchasing department by creating and processing purchase orders and distributing them to the appropriate recipients. This is a contract role of approximately six months that focuses on administrative purchasing tasks rather than direct product buying. The position may expand to include some accounts payable responsibilities based on performance in the core duties. Responsibilities Create accurate purchase orders in the SAP system and ensure they contain all required information. Send purchase orders to vendors, internal stakeholders, and other recipients in a timely manner. Support the purchasing department with administrative tasks related to purchase orders. Verify purchase order details for accuracy and consistency with manufacturing purchasing requirements. Maintain organized records of purchase orders and related documentation. Collaborate with team members in the purchasing department to ensure smooth processing of orders. Assist with accounts payable tasks as needed, depending on performance and departmental needs. Use SAP, including S/4Hana, to enter, track, and update purchase orders. Essential Skills Hands-on experience working with purchase orders. Knowledge of manufacturing purchasing processes and requirements. SAP experience, including creating and managing purchase orders, is required. Experience with SAP S/4Hana is heavily preferred. Ability to work effectively in a structured, Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when entering and reviewing purchasing data. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience supporting a purchasing or procurement team is beneficial. Experience working in a manufacturing environment is an advantage. Familiarity with accounts payable processes is a plus. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Ability to learn and follow established purchasing procedures and systems. Work Environment This role is based on a campus setting in the York Hub. The position follows a standard Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The work involves regular use of SAP, with a strong emphasis on S/4Hana, and close collaboration with the purchasing team in a professional office environment. After full training and demonstrated performance, there is potential for the role to transition to a fully remote arrangement, providing additional flexibility while maintaining strong connections with the on-campus team. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of York, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
