Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to support our purchasing and operations team. The ideal candidate will assist with daily administrative and purchasing activities, maintain accurate records, communicate with suppliers and vendors, and provide support on various projects as needed. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment. This position is 100% in office. This is not a remote work position. Responsibilities Perform daily data entry and maintain accurate purchasing records and databases. Create, update, and maintain Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, and PowerPoint presentations. Obtain quotations, pricing, and lead-time information from suppliers and vendors. Assist with the preparation and processing of purchase orders and related documentation. Communicate professionally with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments regarding purchasing activities. Organize and maintain electronic and physical files related to purchasing and inventory. Support special projects and departmental initiatives as assigned. Monitor and follow up on supplier responses, quotations, and order status. Assist with reporting and data analysis to support purchasing decisions. Perform other administrative and purchasing-related duties as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in business, supply chain, or a related field is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong vocabulary, grammar, and professional correspondence abilities. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, administrative support, or a related role. Experience working with ERP systems (SAP) or purchasing software.
