Reser's Fine Foods, Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support our fast-paced manufacturing operations. This role helps ensure a reliable, cost-effective supply of ingredients, packaging, and plant supplies by creating purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and maintaining accurate data in our systems. You will coordinate closely with vendors, production, and warehousing to resolve issues, prevent shortages, and support on-time, high-quality food production. Responsibilities Support buyers with daily purchasing activities for ingredients, packaging, and supplies Create and process purchase orders in the ERP system with accurate pricing and quantities Track order status, follow up with vendors, and resolve delivery or quality issues Maintain item, vendor, and pricing data to ensure accurate inventory and cost records Assist with bids, quotes, and supplier evaluations to support cost and quality goals Coordinate with production, warehouse, and QA to ensure materials availability Monitor stock levels and help prevent shortages or overstock situations Prepare purchasing reports, spreadsheets, and documentation for management Help ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and company purchasing policies Support continuous improvement, safety, and teamwork within the purchasing function Required Skills Purchase order processing ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) Microsoft Excel and data analysis Vendor and supplier coordination Inventory management fundamentals Basic cost analysis and pricing comparison Food manufacturing or CPG knowledge Documentation and record-keeping Report generation and tracking KPIs Basic contract and terms understanding
