Job Description
About the role Home Zone Furniture is one of the fastest-growing furniture retailers in Texas, with showrooms across the state and a culture built on value, quality, and customer satisfaction. We're looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our purchasing team — someone who thrives on accuracy, loves working with data, and wants to grow a career in retail buying. What you'll do Enter and maintain accurate purchase orders, vendor records, and product data in our inventory and ERP systems Build and manage Excel spreadsheets to track pricing, order status, delivery timelines, and vendor performance Coordinate with vendors to confirm order details, resolve discrepancies, and follow up on outstanding shipments Support senior buyers with sourcing research, cost comparisons, and promotional planning Audit data for accuracy and flag inconsistencies to the buying team Generate routine purchasing reports and summaries for management review What we're looking for 1-3 years of experience in data entry, purchasing, or a related administrative role Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel — pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data formatting are a plus Exceptional attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy under volume Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment Solid communication skills for working with vendors and internal teams Experience with ERP or inventory management systems is a plus (training provided) Background in retail, furniture, or consumer goods is a bonus — but not required What we offer Competitive salary commensurate with experience Health, dental, and vision benefits Employee furniture discount Opportunity to grow within a rapidly expanding company Collaborative team environment with supportive leadership
