Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Clerk to support our Maintenance Department. This position is responsible for sourcing parts, materials, equipment, and services needed to support plant operations. The Purchasing Clerk researches suppliers, obtains competitive pricing, creates and tracks purchase orders, monitors inventory levels, and maintains vendor relationships to ensure critical supplies are available when needed. The ideal candidate is organized, mechanically inclined, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience with NetSuite or other ERP systems is preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Create, enter, and track purchase orders from request through receipt. Research suppliers and obtain quotes to identify the best pricing, quality, and delivery options. Present pricing comparisons and purchasing recommendations to the General Manager for approval. Monitor inventory levels of maintenance parts, tools, supplies, and consumables, and coordinate replenishment as needed. Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, vendor information, and inventory transactions. Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers. Follow up on open orders, backorders, shipment delays, and order discrepancies. Coordinate with maintenance personnel to identify and procure required parts and materials. Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory audits. Support cost-saving initiatives by identifying alternative suppliers and purchasing opportunities. Ensure compliance with company purchasing procedures and approval requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum one (1) year of purchasing, inventory control, maintenance support, warehouse, or related experience required. Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Experience with NetSuite or other ERP systems preferred. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to compare vendor pricing and identify cost-effective purchasing solutions. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Effective communication and relationship-building skills. Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with maintenance-related parts, tools, and equipment preferred.
Schedule Regular schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Flexibility is required as work hours may be adjusted based on production schedules, operational demands, inventory requirements, and other plant needs. Overtime may be required as necessary. This position offers an opportunity to play a key role in supporting maintenance operations by ensuring the timely availability of parts and supplies needed to keep the facility running efficiently.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
