HOUR GENERAL PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to ensure the quality, freshness, and product assortment of Harmons Produce is maintained at the Distribution Center and in the Produce departments at the stores. This person will be working with farmers and vendors to order fresh produce, managing bulk produce purchasing, placing orders, product pick-up and quality inspection, scheduling weekly freight deliveries, invoicing, and providing exceptional customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures Ensures the quality and freshness of all produce services provided by the Distribution Center and in-store produce departments Responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the Distribution Center and in-store produce orders Works with vendors and farmers to order fresh produce for the Distribution Center and our stores Assists stores with fulfilling special orders Complete cooler walks and bulk inventory control Organize and print store's orders based from ship date Determine case packs and quantity to order produce based on store orders and special orders Transfer information from Production Planner to buying sheet to track bulk product by shipment Communicate to buyer and shippers in a timely manner on quality issues to prevent the product from going out Drive to pick up/drop off product maintaining optimal produce temperature Communicate with farmers to place orders, learn new products, provide seasonal updates, changes, and feedback Track order confirmation and make changes when necessary Support established procedures to facilitate efficient product arrival Communicate to vendors in a timely manner on quality issues Help print invoices before the arrival of each shipment along with the Lead Processor Communicates favorable purchasing opportunities to maximize sales and gross profits and minimize cost of goods sold Delivers excellent customer service to all customers Completes assigned tasks efficiently and in a timely manner Sets a professional and positive example to others Assists as needed to ensure the success of the Produce Department as a whole
