About the

Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant to join our team in Chantilly, VA. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate looking to gain experience in a fast-paced, professional office environment. You'll work closely with the Purchasing team to support daily operations, vendor communication, and data management.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure purchasing accuracy: Validate purchase orders, prepare required shipping documentation, and run daily supplier follow-up reports to keep orders on track.

Maintain system integrity:

Update costs and pricing within the ERP system to ensure accurate data based on new price lists received from suppliers.

Own the flow of materials:

Review, organize, and release purchase orders for weekly truckload shipments to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

Optimize inventory levels:

Analyze system-generated purchase recommendations against inventory on hand, historical usage, and demand to maintain the right balance of supply.

Collaborate across teams:

Build strong, productive relationships with suppliers and internal partners to resolve issues and support business needs.

Qualifications:

Working knowledge of purchasing & inventory processes - Hands-on experience supporting purchasing activities and maintaining inventory accuracy within a business or distribution environment. Technology proficiency - Comfortable using MS Excel, ERP systems, and emerging digital tools to support purchasing and inventory workflows. Education & experience -Minimum of 2+ years of related professional experience in purchasing and operations
