Job Description
CVEC is looking for a Supply & Purchasing Assistant in our Arrington, VA office. The successful candidate will assist with the procurement and management of goods and services in accordance with applicable Rural Utilities Service (RUS) requirements, CVEC policies, and established management procedures. This position plays an important role in maintaining effective inventory levels, processing requisitions and purchase orders, coordinating deliveries, supporting Accounts Payable, and helping ensure materials are available when needed. Key Responsibilities Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for CVEC electrical, and other materials as needed. Verify receipt of supplies, pricing, paperwork, and computer records, and provide information to Accounts Payable for invoice processing. Assist with maintaining adequate inventory levels by working with the Inventory Control and Facilities Supervisor, Supply Team Associates, vendors, and distributors. Support large projects by assisting with bids, requests for proposals, quotations, bills of material, and coordination of transmission material deliveries. Expedite materials, follow up on backorders, and assist with annual physical inventory. Periodically assist with receiving, unloading, issuing, relocating, and transferring materials. Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Two to four years of warehouse experience required; familiarity with electric utility or cooperative construction material units and equipment preferred. Forklift certification required. Purchasing experience preferred. Valid Virginia Driver's License required. Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office required.
