Job Summary :
The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) provides patient-centered quality health care within a community-based setting and strives to improve general health and well-being through prevention, education and treatment. Activities involve direct patient care, physical assessment, diagnosis and treatment, provision of preventive care, referral for specialty services as needed and follow-up. Will devote professional services to the benefit of BRMC and seek to incorporate all clinical activities into the practice of the BRMC. The Nurse Practitioner and BRMC will negotiate any agreement for clinical practice outside of the BRMC, providing such practice does not interfere with provider's obligations to the Center. May be assigned to special projects such as primary care/mental health integration or to a satellite site. Demonstrates a sincere dedication and loyalty to the mission, vision and core values of BRMC.
Essential Job Duties & Functions :
Provides medical services to patients of BRMC. Such services are provided primarily at the BRMC facility in Arrington, Virginia, but will include services at other locations within its service areas from time to time as agreed by BRMC and the Nurse Practitioner. Maintains and updates medical records on BRMC patients timely. Consults with other clinical staff as necessary. Orders, performs and interprets all common tests as deemed necessary and appropriate based on history and physical exam. Refers patients to other health care providers as indicated. Performs selected special procedures as approved by the Chief Medical Officer using annual competency form. Provides emergency care as needed to stabilize patients for transport to the closest emergency facility. Provides health education/counseling to patients and families. Assists with the teaching of nursing, nurse practitioner, and medical students. Works together with practice team to care for patients, offering direction and education to the team to improve patient outcomes and team performance. Takes on other responsibilities and tasks as designated and agreed upon by the Chief Medical Officer and/or Chief Executive Officer.
Compensation Range :
$58.86 - $64.30/hr $116,198 - $133,748 annually
