Full Job Description Overview:

Responsibilities:
Order and schedule patient surgeries Contact patient regarding surgery date and location or any changes Verifies accuracy of patient information including insurance in the EMR when scheduling the surgery Ensure patients obtain their pre-operative clearances Maintain accurate records of patient appointments and surgeries Completes pre-procedure phone calls and confirms appointment times with clinics Assist with other administrative tasks as assigned by supervisor Effectively communicate with Medical Assistants, Providers and other co-workers. Provides accurate, detailed information to patients regarding test preparation, time of patients scheduled arrival, and any other directional information needed Verification of patient insurance benefits Responds to inquiries from providers, patients and staff regarding surgeries and procedures. Navigate the patients through the bariatric surgery process from the beginning to the end Input patient information into our Bariatric EMR System-Sequence Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards Regular and prompt attendance Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required Related duties as assigned
Additional Information:
Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years of related experience. Required Experience in customer service and/or experience in a healthcare setting. Preferred Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
