We are seeking an organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler to join our team. This position plays an important role in coordinating surgical procedures and ensuring patients have a smooth experience from scheduling through their procedure. The ideal candidate has experience working in a medical office, is comfortable communicating with patients, physicians, hospitals, and insurance companies, and can manage multiple priorities in a busy medical practice. Previous experience with Greenway/PrimeSuite is preferred. Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures for physicians Work closely with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff to coordinate surgery dates and necessary pre-operative appointments Communicate with hospitals and surgical facilities regarding scheduling and required documentation Communicate surgery information and instructions clearly to patients Obtain insurance benefits and prior authorizations as required Verify that necessary documentation, testing, and clearances are completed prior to surgery Maintain accurate patient information and documentation in the electronic medical record Follow up on outstanding authorizations, paperwork, and scheduling requirements Answer patient questions regarding the scheduling process and direct clinical questions to the appropriate staff member Maintain organized surgery schedules and communicate changes promptly Assist with other administrative and scheduling duties as needed Qualifications Previous medical office experience preferred Previous surgery scheduling experience strongly preferred Greenway/PrimeSuite experience preferred Experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations preferred Knowledge of medical terminology preferred Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a busy medical office Strong attention to detail and follow-through Comfortable communicating with physicians, clinical staff, patients, hospitals, and insurance companies Professional, dependable, and team-oriented What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is organized, proactive, and dependable and who takes ownership of their responsibilities.
