Job Description
Position Summary The Program Coordinator provides day-to-day leadership for a team of Peer Recovery Support Specialists (PRSS) serving individuals recovering from substance use disorders in rural Arkansas. The Coordinator ensures that peer services are delivered consistently, ethically, and within the peer scope of practice and that program activities and outcomes are accurately documented and reported. The Program Coordinator reports to the Program Operations Manager and works closely with a Certified Peer Supervisor to support high-quality peer practice, professional development, and adherence to ethical standards. Essential Responsibilities Team Leadership Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and support to Peer Recovery Support Specialists. Coordinate staff priorities, assignments, schedules, and coverage across program locations. Maintain regular communication with the team and address operational issues as they arise. Support onboarding, training, professional development, and accountability of PRSS staff. Identify staff or program concerns and work with the Program Operations Manager to address them. Foster a collaborative, dependable, recovery-oriented team culture. Ethical Peer Support Practice Model and reinforce ethical, person-centered, recovery-oriented peer support. Ensure staff understand and operate within the appropriate PRSS scope of practice, including professional boundaries and confidentiality. Work with the Certified Peer Supervisor to identify coaching, supervision, training, or corrective support needed by individual team members. Help PRSS navigate challenging participant situations while maintaining participant choice, self-determination, and multiple pathways of recovery. Provide direct peer recovery support as needed to maintain program coverage and model effective peer practice. Data & Program Quality Ensure PRSS staff complete required participant documentation and program tracking accurately and on time. Regularly review program data for completeness, accuracy, and consistency. Monitor key program measures, including participants served, peer support activities, referrals, assessments, and participant outcomes. Identify gaps, trends, or concerns in program data and communicate them to the Program Operations Manager. Support accurate reporting for grants, contracts, community partners, and internal quality improvement. In a fast-paced environment at the forefront of recovery in Arkansas, flexibility and teamwork are essential. This team leader may perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Current Arkansas-recognized Peer Recovery Support Specialist certification required; Advanced Peer Recovery Support Specialist certification preferred. Experience providing peer recovery support to individuals affected by substance use disorders. Demonstrated leadership, organization, and clear written and verbal communication skills. Strong understanding of peer ethics, boundaries, confidentiality, and scope of practice. Ability to coach and support peers while maintaining clear expectations and accountability. Comfort working with program data, documentation, spreadsheets, and electronic tracking systems; strong computer skills including human services software and Microsoft 365 essential. Ability to travel to rural Arkansas communities (in a company vehicle or with mileage reimbursement) and maintain occasional evening and weekend availability. The ideal candidate is a strong peer professional who can lead people, protect the integrity of peer recovery support, and ensure that the work of the team is accurately captured through high-quality data. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this role is $40,000 to $42,000 per year.
