Report To:
Manager of Logistics About Alicat Scientific Alicat Scientific builds precision instrumentation that measures and controls gases and liquids for customers around the world. Our manufacturing teams keep things flowing literally and figuratively, and we are looking for a detail-loving, puzzle-solving Logistics Scheduler to support our SMT, Head Assembly and Sub-Assembly lines. Position Summary The Logistics Scheduler is responsible for planning, coordinating, and adjusting material flow and production schedules for the Surface Mount Technology (SMT), Head Assembly and Sub-Assembly manufacturing lines. This role ensures materials are available when needed; production plans are realistic, and manufacturing priorities are clearly communicated across teams. Key Responsibilities
  • Create, maintain, and adjust production schedules for SMT and Head Assembly lines
  • Coordinate material availability to support build plans and delivery commitments
  • Release and manage work orders accurately and on time
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Inventory, Purchasing, Planning, Engineering, and Production teams
  • Communicate schedule changes and material constraints proactively
  • Resolve material shortages, capacity constraints, and priority conflicts
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as required
  • Maintain accurate scheduling data in ERP/MRP systems
  • Support inventory health and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications Required:
  • Experience in manufacturing scheduling, logistics, or production planning
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic manufacturing environment
Preferred:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations, Business, or related field
APICS/CPIM
certification or coursework
  • Familiarity with SMT, electronics manufacturing, or precision assembly environments
  • Experience in high-mix, High-volume or regulated manufacturing environments What Success looks like: 3
Months:
Fully oriented and operating independently with minimal supervision.
  • Understands Alicat's SMT, Sub-Assembly, and Head Assembly workflows, terminology, and constraints
  • Confidently navigates ERP/MRP systems and maintains accurate scheduling data
  • Produces and maintains production schedules with minimal rework
  • Releases work orders on time and with correct material alignment
  • Communicates effectively with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Planning
  • Identifies material shortages or scheduling risks early and escalates appropriately
  • Demonstrates reliability, ownership, and strong attention to detail 6
Months:
Trusted owner of the schedule and proactively mitigating gaps.
  • Independently manages SMT and Head Assembly schedules end‑to‑end
  • Proactively adjusts schedules based on demand changes, constraints, and priorities
  • Helps resolve material shortages and capacity conflicts with minimal disruption
  • Builds strong working relationships across Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain
  • Contributes ideas to improve schedule accuracy, material flow, or efficiency
  • Maintains high schedule adherence and supports on‑time delivery goals
  • Balances urgency with accuracy—even when things change quickly 12 months: Driving measurable impact and continuous improvement.
  • Consistently delivers realistic, stable, and optimized production schedules
  • Plays a key role in cross‑functional planning conversations and decision‑making
  • Leads or supports process improvements related to scheduling, inventory, or material flow
  • Helps onboard or mentor new schedulers or planners (formal or informal)
  • Uses data and metrics to influence planning and manufacturing outcomes
  • Improves predictability across SMT and Head Assembly lines
  • Seen as a go‑to resource for production planning questions and problem‑solving
Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
