Glendale, CA Job Details Full-time $22 - $24 an hour 3 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications HIPAA English Medical scheduling Medical administrative support Attention to detail Armenian Full Job Description We are seeking an organized, dependable, and patient-focused Medical Scheduler & Eligibility Coordinator to join our medical office. This position is responsible for coordinating patient appointments, verifying insurance eligibility and benefits, obtaining necessary referral and authorization information, and providing excellent service to our patients. The ideal candidate is fluent in Armenian and English , comfortable communicating with patients and insurance companies, and experienced in a fast-paced medical office environment. Key Responsibilities Answer incoming patient calls professionally and assist patients in both Armenian and English . Schedule, reschedule, and confirm new and established patient appointments. Gather and accurately enter patient demographics, insurance information, referral information, and other required documentation. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments. Confirm patient coverage, effective dates, copays, deductibles, and applicable specialist benefits. Identify HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medi-Cal, and other insurance requirements. Verify that required referrals and authorizations are received and valid before the patient's appointment. Communicate with patients regarding missing insurance information, referrals, authorizations, or other documents needed for their visit. Coordinate with referring physician offices, insurance plans, and internal staff to resolve eligibility or scheduling issues. Maintain an organized schedule and assist with appointment availability, cancellations, and waitlists. Document all patient and insurance communications accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). Follow HIPAA requirements and maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Provide courteous and compassionate customer service, particularly when assisting elderly patients, caregivers, and patients with neurological conditions. Perform additional front-office and administrative duties as needed. Qualifications Fluent Armenian and English required. Medical office experience preferred. Experience with patient scheduling and insurance eligibility verification strongly preferred. Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, HMO, PPO, referrals, and authorization processes is a plus. Experience using an EMR and insurance eligibility portals preferred. Strong telephone and customer-service skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately enter patient and insurance information. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a busy medical office. Professional, reliable, organized, and comfortable working as part of a healthcare team.
Pay:
$22.00 - $24.00 per hour
