Job Description

Surgery Scheduler - Laguna Hills, CA Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Surgery Scheduler to support a busy orthopedic practice with a high-volume surgical workflow. This individual will primarily focus on coordinating surgeries for 2-3 providers, while also assisting with general scheduling, patient communication, and cross-department support as needed. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong follow-through, and can effectively manage multiple priorities at once. Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule approximately 20 surgeries per week for multiple providers Manage the full surgery scheduling process including pre-op, surgery, and post-op appointments Obtain and submit prior authorizations through insurance portals for surgical procedures Send surgical scheduling documentation and orders to hospitals, surgical centers, and PCP offices Maintain close communication with providers regarding surgery schedules and updates Assist with regular appointment scheduling and support the call center as needed Communicate with patients through phone calls, text messages, patient portals, email, and voicemail Monitor and manage provider schedules to ensure efficient workflow and accurate coordination Required Qualifications 1-2+ years of surgery scheduling or medical scheduling experience Experience obtaining insurance authorizations and working within payer portals Familiarity with coordinating referrals, orders, and communication with PCP offices Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage high-volume workflows and multitask effectively Professional communication skills and strong follow-through Comfortable asking questions and collaborating with team members Preferred Qualifications Orthopedic scheduling experience strongly preferred Understanding of orthopedic procedures and anatomy/body parts Experience managing complex provider schedules in a fast-paced clinic environment Schedule & Compensation Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Fully onsite position Contract-to-hire opportunity Pay range: $25-$30/hour depending on experience • We will consider for employment all qualified Applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with the requirements of applicable federal, state, and local laws, including the City of Los Angeles' Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance (FCIHO), Los Angeles Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers (ULAC), The San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance (FCO), and the California Fair Chance Act (CFCA). • As a job position within our Revenue Cycle division, a successful completion of a background check may be required as a condition of employment.
