Where You'll Work Founded in 1899, Dignity Health - St. Joseph's Medical Center is a 355-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in Stockton, California. One California Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Scheduler, you will orchestrate a seamless and efficient care process for patients and providers by coordinating appointments and managing schedules.
Every day you will schedule patient appointments and coordinate multiple provider schedules for medical procedures, tests, and studies. You'll ensure timely scheduling through effective communication, accurately gather and verify patient insurance and documentation, process reports, and provide exceptional customer service to patients via phone and in-clinic assistance.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and excellent communication and reasoning skills to manage scheduling complexities and patient inquiries, always striving for accuracy and efficiency. Demonstrates the ability to safely and competently perform tasks and procedures according to Medical Center policy and procedure. Including, but not limited to: Maintains accurate procedure appointment schedule, including making the necessary adjustments for errors, conflicts and emergencies as required. Receives, screens and handles telephone calls appropriately. This includes scheduling appointments and giving necessary instructions. Accurately prepares and distributes the schedule to appropriate personnel ensuring accuracy. Maintains accurate record keeping filing systems on Quality Assurance. Orders and maintains the necessary medical supplies necessary to perform duties. Job Requirements Required High School Graduate General Studies or GED Minimum two to four (2-4) years' experience in hospital or medical environment Preferred Medical training emphasis
