Advanced Radiology is one of the largest independent radiology practices in the tri-state area with the most experienced radiologists. We are looking for an Interventional Radiology Scheduler to join our team. The pay range for this role will depend on experience and qualifications.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm with rotating weekends.
Position Summary:
The primary function of this position is split between customer care and the scheduling of interventional/vein center procedures. To ensure patient comfort and exceptional service while providing complete, accurate information to patients, staff, ARC physicians, and referring physicians to support the highest standard of compassionate patient care and efficient operations.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors with warmth, compassion, and demonstrate commitment to exceptional service. Conduct a thorough review of all documentation submitted to support diagnostic imaging or interventional procedure including script review, detailed review of clinical information and review of insurance guidelines. Obtain authorization via online provider websites when applicable or via phone call. Book and confirm appointments; pre-screen and obtain lab work when needed. Complete patient admission process accurately and efficiently. Obtain pre-authorization for diagnostic imaging appointments scheduled by all Customer Care referring physicians and Advanced Radiology's interventional department. Work with Medicare, Medicaid and other various commercial insurance companies to verify patient benefits. Ensure that all patient insurance information is current and accurate. Interact with both internal and external customers in order to provide the highest level of customer service. Proof interventional schedules to confirm all required authorizations, lab work, outside reports, images and all necessary information is obtained prior to patient's exam date. Obtain knowledge of multiple Interventional procedures and radiologists' distinctive capability of performing various exams. Constant upkeep of multiple schedules as well as being aware of schedule changes and the ability to effectively accommodate the needs of patients and physicians. Provide and explain exam preps to patients, resolve patients' questions or concerns; if necessary, seek assistance from technologists, physicians or physicians' assistant. Weekend hours are required on rotating schedule.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The ability to multi-task and function in a fast paced, high-volume environment is a must. Strong typing skills desired Basic knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology Ability to assist patients on and off exam tables.
Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Graduate of Medical Office Assistant Program preferred. Minimum 1-2 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
