Overview We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Surgery Scheduler/Doctor's Assistant Team Lead to oversee daily surgical scheduling operations and support our clinical team. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership skills, extensive experience in medical administrative support, and proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth coordination of surgical procedures, maintain accurate documentation, and lead a team dedicated to delivering outstanding patient service. Duties Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures efficiently within the clinic's operational framework, ensuring optimal use of resources and compliance with medical protocols. Lead and supervise the surgery scheduling team, providing training, mentorship, and performance feedback to uphold high standards of service delivery. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or other platforms to ensure accurate data entry and retrieval. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, billing specialists, and administrative staff to facilitate seamless patient flow from scheduling through post-operative follow-up. Assist in preparing care plans by reviewing clinical documentation and ensuring all CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/ICD-10 codes are correctly applied for billing purposes. Maintain knowledge of health insurance policies including Medicare requirements to support accurate billing and collections. Provide exceptional patient service through clear communication via phone or in-person interactions while maintaining professional phone etiquette and front desk responsibilities. Skills Extensive experience with medical scheduling, medical office management, and administrative support in clinical settings. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with electronic health records management is essential. Strong understanding of medical coding practices including CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for accurate billing and documentation review. Knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare regulations and health information management standards. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and maintaining medical records. Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience supervising clerical or medical administrative teams in a healthcare environment. Bilingual skills are preferred to enhance communication with diverse patient populations. Strong computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and reporting purposes. Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette to ensure positive patient interactions. Familiarity with clinic experience including front desk operations, medical receptionist duties, and office experience is highly desirable. Pay:
$20.31 - $29.51 per hour
